Spain is the default winter sun answer for UK travellers. The Canaries (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura) sit about four hours away from most UK airports, and aggregator averages have put typical return fares around £140–£160, with Granadilla (Tenerife South) often cheapest. Cheap Flights to Egypt: Why It Is Trending
Egypt features prominently in recent UK travel-trend reporting. EgyptAir has raised its UK flights to 31 a week, and Jet2 has announced up to 14 weekly flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada from Birmingham, Manchester, Stansted and Edinburgh or Glasgow from 2027. TUI also reports strong early winter demand for Egypt alongside the Canaries and Thailand. Flights usually cost more than short-haul Europe, but all-inclusive hotels, food and transport often cost far less once you land. Cairo (pyramids, Grand Egyptian Museum area), Luxor and Nile cruises, and Marsa Alam diving are popular add-ons.

New Year 2027 Flights
New Year's Eve hotspots include Dubai (Burj Khalifa fireworks), Edinburgh (Hogmanay), New York (Times Square) and Sydney. Departures between Christmas and New Year cost the most, so leaving on 2 January or later is usually cheaper. Book early for New Year weekends, and compare return dates carefully.
February Half-Term 2027 and Beyond
